Remarks |
I was at 53rd North and Maize Rd (northwest of Wichita, Ks) about 21:15 CDT when I first observed a large bright light Green light moving very rapidly to the south. I first saw it directly west (270 deg.) if my location at an elevation of about 45 deg.. It traveled South Southeast and appeared to the losing altitude, although it may also appeared to loss altitude by approaching the horizon. As it traveled the intensity was fairly stable until the very end when it began to fade a bit and at that moment began to shed red debris in its wake. At this point its speed seemed to slow and then it faded completely from view. It did not go below the horizon before it faded. It was last seen from my location at about 200 deg. at an elevation of about 25 deg. There was a trail of smoke or debris that lasted about 3 minute |
