Remarks | This is the first time I've seen a fireball / meteor. My husband saw it as well. I don't know if it is related, but about 20 mins or so down the road from where we saw it, there was thick smoke for a couple of miles. At a few points, we couldn't see more than a hood length in front of us. |

Remarks | We were driving home from a friend's house and I was looking thru the front windshield of our van. I saw a bright streak that started to fade and then there was a very bright flare, like when they used to ignite magnesium strips in chemistry class. It flared brightly for maybe a second or two and then it faded away to nothing. |
