Reports Report 270al (Event 270-2017)

Observer
Name dan K
Experience Level 4/5
Remarks Brilliant blue "welders flame" color, incredibly bright. The event actually took place above and behind me as I was walking acrossed my yard. I was back lit with incredible "day like" illumination, the shadows and definition were similar to noonday, except bluish. I immediately knew what was going on, and whirled around in time to see the half arc through to the end. The smoke trail was visible enough I could see where it entered nearly 12'high, and streaked toward the south-ish horizion. Event was significant enough that I expected an air blast, or shockwave for several minutes afterwards, similar to the Russian blast a few years back . This is the 3rd fireball of this magnitude I have seen in 50 years. They will always be ingrained in your memory!
