Remarks | Brilliant blue "welders flame" color, incredibly bright. The event actually took place above and behind me as I was walking acrossed my yard. I was back lit with incredible "day like" illumination, the shadows and definition were similar to noonday, except bluish. I immediately knew what was going on, and whirled around in time to see the half arc through to the end. The smoke trail was visible enough I could see where it entered nearly 12'high, and streaked toward the south-ish horizion. Event was significant enough that I expected an air blast, or shockwave for several minutes afterwards, similar to the Russian blast a few years back . This is the 3rd fireball of this magnitude I have seen in 50 years. They will always be ingrained in your memory! |

Remarks | Smoke trail was easily seen by the glow of the object but was hard to see afterwards. Although my eyes were "flashed" by the fireball, so couldn't see well for few minutes. |
