Remarks | We were sitting under a bit of a roof on the observation deck on top of Clingman's dome, so we did not see the meteor's approach. Hence the first sighting when already past. But it appeared to come from almost DIRECTLY overhead. I'd guess it passed within 5-10 degrees of the zenith. I'm unsure about the direction we were facing, but it was roughly southeast, and appeared to be moving slightly left, so it must have passed just northeast of us. |
