What I saw was beautiful and brief.. but I've seen enough of them to know that I got very lucky to be able to witness one so close and bright (in New York City no less).

There was definitely a one bigger fireball, but it looked like it was closely trailing a smaller fireball in front of it. Probably a fragment.
