Remarks | As I mentioned previously, I was driving at the time, so I couldn't devote my full attention to the meteor, and my exact location along highway 12 is probably +/- a mile. I first saw it as it came into view at the top of my windshield from behind me. If there was any sound, I couldn't hear it over the sound of my car. The brightness rating I estimated is pretty rough; I was just shocked at the size and brightness; it seemed brighter than a full moon. It was so big and bright, I wondered what else it could be other than a meteor because I have never seen anything quite like it, and I have gone out to watch meteor showers in the past. |
