Remarks I have seen many meteor showers and am a constant sky watcher-have been fascinated since I was a child. I have never seen a meteor like this before. It was huge, like half the size of the full moon, extremely bright and falling straight down. Plus I could not see any tail or fragments, just the huge, white ball of light. I read on twitter that the US Coast Guard in Seattle was asking for boaters to contact them if they saw this object. I\'m not sure why, unless they felt that there was a possible plane crash near Seattle. I am a little over two hours west of Seattle, directly across from Victoria BC.

Remarks I heard a very loud roaring shortly before I saw the fireball-I almost hesitate to call it a roaring sound because I did not recognize the sound as something I had heard before, so roaring is the best I can do to describe it. Maybe more a roaring, humming, buzzing sound? I opened my front door to see if there was a jet overhead, but there was not. When I went back inside I sat down, facing north and immediately saw a huge white fireball falling straight out of the sky towards the water which is about about a mile downhill from my home. It is the Strait of Juan De Fuca. I almost thought it was a plane falling-I did not see any type of tail, just a huge white ball of light. I\'d say from the roaring sound to seeing the object falling from the sky would have been under 20-30 seconds.
