Delayed Sound | |
---|---|
Observation | Yes |
Remarks | It occurred maybe 2-3 minutes after the fireballs and lasted maybe 20-30 seconds. I\'ve heard sonic booms from planes and dynamite explosions from quarries before and this was the loudest sound I ever heard. It rumbled like thunder the entire time however amplified many times and at the end you could hear it echoing along the shores of the lake. I didn\'t feel a concussion though. |
Persistent train | |
---|---|
Observation | Yes |
Duration | 99.99s |
Length | 4.5° |
Remarks | I didn\'t really pay too much attention to the train, I was so exited to see the event. I looked at it maybe four or five times until I heard the sonic boom and after that I really did not think about the train anymore. From what I recall it looked like a vapor trail from a plane however narrower. It was also foggy on the lake and it was visible through the fog (not too dense). |
Terminal flash | |
---|---|
Observation | Unknown |
Remarks | I\'m not sure if what I saw was a terminal flash. I saw two separate streaks over 1- 2 seconds, like giant sparklers streaking through the sky that disappeared. The two fireballs were going in the same direction but not 100% parallel, one had a slightly lower angle but not by much at all. They looked orange and yellow, I observed them through the fog and the sun was at my 9-10 o\'clock . When looking above the horizon the sky was foggy and the sun was peeking through certain areas from the east, it was clearly visible through the fog though. Photos of the lake and horizon maybe 15 minutes or so before the event are available showing the color of the sky. It was chilly that morning, around 32 degrees when we got on the water at 6:00. It warmed up some after that however my hands got cold so I put the phone away until after the events. |
