Remarks This was the most magnificent meteor I've ever seen. I have witnessed meteor showers at night with little if no interferance with city lights. This was close to the city with many lights around. It was twilight, with a pink glow still coming off the just-set sun. It was pure chance that I went outside for a break and looked up to see this phenomena. It was the brightest 'shooting star' I've ever witnessed, a bright ball of white so close it dwarfed even Venus, with a white halo around it and a tail of light blue & flickering pink & white. It couldn't have been far from me considering the size and intensity of it. I wish I could have taken a picture--I could certainly draw it, so vivid is it in my mind.

Remarks Conical, almost as bright as the meteor. The meteor had a white halo, and from this halo was a conical tail, blue with a pinkish white outer flare. It lasted only a few brief seconds after the initial flash then it too disappeared.
Terminal flash
Observation Unknown
Remarks I think there was a quick wink of white before it disappeared but it was so fast I can\'t be sure. I didn\'t see any fragments.
