Possible that it was just a bright Perseid; however, the duration and brightness definitely marked it as distinct amongst the other meteors we saw that night.

2 fragmentation events occurred. The object passed from just about below Polaris through the Big Dipper, and broke apart twice as it passed through the bowl and under the handle of the Dipper.
