Remarks | This was an absolutely incredible event to witness. The past couple of summers I\'ve planned trips out into the country of Maine and Massachusetts to watch the Perseid meteor shower; but last summer, the full moon dominated the sky, and this year, it was too cloudy. I would have never expected to walk out of my apartment, near the Eastern Promenade and Casco Bay in Portland, ME, glance up, and see such a wondrous sight--a meteor zooming across the sky, with a distinct green head a red tail streaming behind. I exclaimed in the middle of the street, but no one else was around. I like to think I was the only person to see it, and it\'s a little secret between the universe and me. |
