It was very near the moon that was just above the horizon. The moon had some light clouds making it appear dim. 3 of us in the same vehicle noticed it clearly as we were actually observing the moon. It was a definite event and the color was a bright green. We couldn't have been facing it more directly straight on nor could it have been more of a perfectly vertical drop from higher in the sky to below the horizon. Was truly a straight perpendicular drop from the sky to below the horizon.
