Remarks | We were looking at the ocean horizon at 165degrees S. We saw 2024 AU4 with the naked eye. It was going through the night sky orbiting the earth 30 degrees up from the horizon from counterclockwise across the sky. It was a bright flickering red star-shaped dot with a red arc in front of it (the whole front 50%), no tail visible. Took about 2-3minutes for it cross the sky, ending at 10 degrees up from horizon. When looking at the horizon, when the asteroid was 45 degrees to our left, the fireball came directly towards us. A bright light of literal fire we saw for 15 seconds dropping right towards 5 degrees down in the sky before it burned out. Size of a halfdime burning. No tail or arc visible due to angle |

Remarks | Literally looked like a ball of fire. Where we were, it was coming right towards us so we didn’t see an arc. Bright flash of white light before it went dark |
