Reports Report 739e (Event 739-2024)

Observer
Name PJ S
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks By far most spectacular, biggest, brightest, longest, colorful flash across the sky I've ever seen. Speed of a typical meteor. Time I saw it isn't exact as didn't look at time, then had internet issues. Beale Air Force Base radar, which monitors Oroville Municipal Airport could have seen it if meteors are visible radar. Seemed to come from E-SE headed W-NW , i.e., closer at start going farther away. The big dipper was visible at the time, though not when I checked outside15-20 minutes later. Decades ago Chris Crawford https://leonid.arc.nasa.gov/s-crawford.html introduced me to watching Perseid Meteor showers.
