I was facing west as I was in the front of the house watering with my back to the east. I noticed flickering light & thought a car was heading up the road. I turned to see a very large (largest, by far, I can ever recall seeing) bright ball heading downward in the eastern sky. The object, I would compare to the size of a basketball (relative term from that great distance), was glowing & burning with a very, very short smoke trail. The object was mostly a very bright phosphorescent green color with some shades of light blue & a white hot appearance. The object traveled across the sky from a roughly 11 o'clock position (where I pulled focus) and traveled at a uniform speed until ducking behind tree cover near the horizon - appeared to be several miles south of my position (looked as if it's path took it right over the lake to my east). The object emitted a soft low "burning" sound as it floated through the sky on it's path to the earth. The object gave me the impression it was encountering bouts of resistance as it was traveling through the early morning sky. The sky was cloudy & just around first light. . . I could not tell if there was a longer smoke trail present (I didn't really look as I was just following the bright object on it's journey). I was overwhelmed with just how close the object appeared to be. . . not only to my position, but how low in the sky. Quite an event! |
