Remarks | I've set my alarm on occasion so I can observe meteor showers but have never seen anything like this. My wife and I watched it for a minimum of 20 seconds While most are a quick flash across the sky with a long train, this moved much slower, was much larger, had a short train that quickly disappeared, and you could see small burning pieces of debris flying out and back. I saw it come over the trees just to the southwest of our house and we watched it until it disappeared over the trees in the next block. I checked my compass. It was traveling in an east/northeast direction. |
