Remarks The fireball was quite green I don't know how far towards the earth it got as it disappeared behind the mountain range behind palm springs. It was definitely coming in quite vertically (slight angle) - and seemed quite close to where I was viewing it from - if I had to guess I would say it was within 20 miles. Before it disappeared behind the mountain it seemed like it was coming to an end quite quickly - and did not appear to be moving that quickly. There was another person who saw it with me - we were both amazed at its color. I don't think its intensity was as bright as I said before - also I think I only caught the last couple of seconds - my intuition told me that it had probably been visible for 2 or three seconds before that
