Remarks | Everything is approximate, sorry. I saw this driving north on I-5 at the south end of Salem, and had to compromise between observing and not crashing. It appeared to be slightly to the right of my car. I may have the magnitude wrong, given that it was daylight, so I give a description: At first it looked like sun glint off of an airplane, then it grew until it looked like a magnesium flare or a firework. It did not last long, and the track was short: the entire track appeared to subtend about 0.04 radians (one inch at arms length, and no I'm not going to multiply that out to get two and a half degrees). |
