Remarks | My husband and I are both Geologists, so not expert observers, but definitely scientifically trained. We were out on the town that night and both immediately figured we had seen something unusual, and not a left-over firework from 4th of July. Based on what we saw, we are certain that there will surely be video from east-directed security cameras in Los Angeles, so you might want to contact the LA Press to get them to have the public look back at their records. |

Remarks | It broke into several large chunks about 20% the area of the fireball itself and got bright and then dimmed quickly after that. Several smaller chunks were in the mix as well. When we first saw it, the glow lit up clouds all over LA so brightness was considerable and clearly well above levels one would expect for fireworks. |
