Remarks | Wonder if gravity waves caused the quick snaking configuration of the smoke? Wonder if it was 85km elevation... ANOTHER bright meteor followed same trajectory a few minutes later- perhaps 3 degrees south of the fireball's line of travel. I listened for sonic with cupped ears, but heard nothing. Clear, very quiet night in Dark Sky Tucson... almost no clouds, no thunder or lightning in distance... relatively dust-free atmosphere following recent rains. Relatively high moisture content of atmosphere. I was actually looking at clearly visible Milky Way when the fireball passed just to it's south. Origin from my location was eastern sky between Cassiopea and Plieades. |
