Remarks I pay some attention to meteor showers & lunar eclipses & such (I have insomnia and live in a small Western town with dark skies, so I often go out to skygaze if I can't sleep) and I knew that the Taurids were happening now, but this fireball came from an entirely unexpected direction and shocked me to the point where I hollered out loud and startled the couple of nearby friends, who didn't see it. We were all just coming out of the movie and I happened to be looking in the right direction. As soon as it vanished, I looked at the clock on the nearby bank, so it probably happened a minute or two before the 9:38 MST I gave. It was very, very dramatic: Large & round-looking and leaving a curving glowing trail for what seemed like several seconds, thoughI know can't have been that long. I've never tried to report a sighting before, but this really was dramatic. I hope this helps. It was beyond cool!
