Remarks | This was the second time I have observed a fireball while driving (the first being about 20 years ago). I spent many years wondering what I had observed the first time, until meeting someone else who had observed the same phenomenon on the same date! Some Internet research and documented sightings confirmed to us what it was. Sadly, this second fireball disappeared out of sight above the trees relatively quickly, as I was on a tree-lined portion of Interstate. However, if it weren't for that first experience many years ago, I might not have recognized what this was! So neat to get to see another one. |
