Just saw a large object in the sky entering the Earth's atmosphere! It was to the east of my location and disappeared behind the mountains separating Pahrump from Vegas! It was visible to me for three to five seconds as I didn't notice it immediately. I would say it was visible a few minutes before 4:00am PST. I was almost facing the opposite direction but it was so bright it caught my attention. As I turned it became instantly bright in the whole valley, a reddish orange color, like fire. Even more odd, to me the object itself appeared greenish blue with a bright "tail!" As I stated above I only saw the object once it became bright enough to turn the night into an eerie orangish glow in the valley. It had a generally horizontal trajectory but after a second or so of brightness it descended below the horizon and both sides of our valley has mountains. Once it was obscured by the mountains it and it's light were no longer visible. It was to the east of my location so might be reports from the east may have more information. Anyone else hear about or see this? Pretty awesome. |
