Was driving east on montauk hwy in sayville and saw a bright white object streaming downward. Saw the ball and a tail of light with it. Was bright white. Was a clear sunny day too and was still bright. Only lasted couple seconds then it disappeared behind trees. Listened for a sound since had my window open but did not hear anything. I knew immediately it must have been a meteorite. Was so cool! I had seen so many meteors in the night sky but never in daylight.
