Reports Report 547g (Event 547-2011)

Observer
Name Paul D
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks This was the most spectacular astronomical event that I've ever witnessed. I was with my son and brother. I saw it first and pointed it out to them. The yellow white fireball encircled by green with the red and orange streaked tail was simply amazing (sorry, I can't think of a more glorious superlative). The fireball was traveling in a descending arc across the northeast sky and appeared the same size as a dime held at arm's length. It was at approx. 45 degrees elevation when I first observed it and it disappeared at about 15 degrees above the horizon. I believe this event was witnessed by others as event #547, as the timing seems approximately right.
