Reports Report 548q (Event 548-2011)

Observer
Name heather
Experience Level 2/5
Remarks The people who were with me at the drive-in thought it was a flare someone had fired off. I have seen meteors of the same relative size before and ironically, in the same town. I knew it was a meteor. I am pretty sure everyone who was at the drive-in saw the object. It was in the town of Shinnston/Gyspy, WV, at the Sunset Ellis drive-in. Rio and the Pirates of the Caribbean were playing and I could estimate at least about 25 to 35 cars being there. Most of the people were sitting outside of their cars to watch the movies.

Remarks -
Delayed Sound
Observation No
Remarks I didn\'t \"hear\" anything, but more like felt vibrations (only way I can explain it) a few seconds after the initial flash of light.
Persistent train
Observation Yes
Duration 5s
Length 30°
Remarks I can\'t judge the length or details of the train accurately because the object was behind the tree line from our position.
Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks I was watching a movie at the drive-in and noticed the whole sky lit up like it was daylight. I looked back over my shoulder and noticed what appeared be a meteor. To me it looked like it was going up and then it started falling back down. It was bright green and falling very fast and was very, very bright. I saw slight fragmentation, but my view quickly became obstructed by the tree line. I could still see the object through the trees, but could not see anything else but a bright light falling.
Fragmentation
Observation No
