It disappeared from my sight well above the horizon but didn't look like it exploded. Just winked out. It could have hit the earth but no mountains were in the way of my sighting.

White flame that was the largest ball of fire I have ever seen. It looked like a ping pong ball about 10 yards away with fire a around it!
