Reports Report 1337kn (Event 1337-2017)

Observer
Name Carri R
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks When we first saw the fireball we thought it was a small plane flying very low because we live near an international airport (GSP). We also have distant neighbors with airstrips and frequently see small planes out. I saw the path of the fireball end and I believe a meteorite fall from the sky. As the fireball slowed it turned from brilliant white/orange, to light green/blue. It stopped and I could see it fall straight down into the trees very close to where I was driving. My father was a meteorologist while I was growing up. Weather and astronomical events have always been very neat to me. We used to watch for fireballs often through my childhood. This was special though. It was a once in a lifetime event. My mom was with me in the car and she said she has never seen anything like it. Also, as to the direction I was driving. I hope you guys can take into account the fact that I was driving about 45 mph while you look at the map. When we saw the fireball I slowed down to about 35. I was near Campbell Lake Rd when it slowed and fell from the sky. There are two roads back in that area one called Princess Cir and the other Country Club Road. That is the boundary of where I believe it fell. I almost turned down Campbell Lake to see where it fell, but I had left my kiddos home with their dad and didn't want to take longer than I needed to. Please keep me updated on this. I would really love to know if anything is recovered, or if you guys get more reports. Thanks!!
