When I've seen meteors before they've appeared to be falling downward, but this was moving along the horizon the way a plane would (but much faster given how low it was and at a slight decline). The tail was also much longer than any I've seen before and was visible for much longer. We were driving in the car when we saw it. It was big round and bright.

Remarks
Glowing tail like a fireball that seemed to disappear when it went away to the horizon, maybe because of the angle. The brightness faded in the distance also.
