Reports Report 2240cl (Event 2240-2017)

Observer
Name Jayne F
Experience Level 1/5
Remarks We were on an overnight backpacking trip. A rainstorm had just gone through the area, and we had come out of our tents to enjoy some time around the campfire when one of our campers saw the fireball. It was so bright and lasted long enough that everyone in our group had time to look up and watch it move across the sky. The fireball was so bright we could see it through the cloud cover! It was almost straight over head and was like nothing I've ever seen before.
