| Remarks | I've only ever seen a fireball like this once before, in 29 Palms CA, but it was much higher in the sky and didn't explode. This one I saw while driving on the highway, and it looked like it came almost straight down. Explosion/fragmentation happened right before it left my field of vision, beneath the trees on a low hillside. The whole thing was over with in less than 2 seconds, probably closer to 1.5s |
