Remarks Long story - bare with me. Traveling south on I 84 near Juniper, ID. Large bollide explodes above us Green and beyond cool. We pull off freeway, I look over at wife (I'm now looking Southwest) and as Im looking at her, I see three or four large bright red meteors traveling left to right, parallel to the ground (South to North), just above the horizon. These rocks break up into smaller pieces, and I could swear I saw what looked like flame trails. Now 15 or so pieces lose momentum and start diving to the ground. Then all at once, they went dark (went back two weeks later and found out they had fallen below line of sight broken up by a freaking mountain!) Anyhoo, I built a cairn next to where we stopped with rocks pointing to where we saw the rocks falling straight down. I called Patrick Wiggins, NASA Solar System Ambassador to Utah at the time and reported my and my wife's observations. Pattrick said our observations just couldn't have happened because of the discrepancy in trajectories. I've sent this sighting to several meteor sites with nary a response. Well = we saw what we saw. Went back two weeks later found my cairn intact, looked out and saw the mountain with very little access. Time was short but I know they would have fallen at least just on the other side of the mountain and from what Pattrick said, could have landed out in the Pacific. I have several google maps detailing our sightings, and sure as heck would like to work with someone on this. Thanks!
