It seemed so large as it crested, and then quickly seemed to fizzle out. It was magnificent and unlike anything I've ever seen.

Not sure about the degree question. It was not a long train--but it did have a short tail that resembled, in essence, a shooting star. But was brighter and seemed to fizzle out quicker.
