Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks I watched the amazing sight from our neighbourhood in Kaslo, B.C. . It didn't land anywhere as far as I could tell. It occurred very near the place in the eastern sky where the moon was at ~10:15pm. It started as a tiny point, like shooting star, then quickly became so bright I had to shut my eyes. It appeared to be a bit bigger than the moon. The last thing I saw before the whole sky lit up like daylight were a few pieces that fell away from the main body for a short distance and then all was dark -- except for the eerie red moon.
Fragmentation
Observation Yes
Remarks Just before the final flash it appeared that a couple or three little pieces fell and trailed a very short distance before they went dark.
