Remarks Hi folks, I was facing a Westward window and the house is on a hillside so there is no direct view of the sky or horizon. From the sitting position the window looks out on to the ground on the steep upward slope. I saw what I thought was a orange red flash of lightning that lit up overhead. Then I heard what I thought was a moderate thunder boom. The ground shook momentarily and increased in intensity like a mild to moderate earthquake. I didn't pay attention to the time, but online, someone local had documented it as 10:15pm. I have been here in Beasley BC for two weeks visiting from Ontario and we get heat lightning there. The sky was clear but smokey and the moon has been orange looking this last week. So I just thought this was heat lightning. I am a Wwoofer here, volunteer gardener, and my host returned September 5 th from Vancouver and told me that what I experienced was the meteor. Thank you for letting me share. Pretty amazing stuff.
