I would love to know if you have had similar accounts - and if so, what was it. It reminded me of the space shuttle that was scattered about Texas a few years ago when it exploded on reentry. Thank you.

After about 3 seconds after it disappeared - we heard in the distance a boom. Like a cannon going off, but far away....we assumed it hit in an unpopulated area since nothing was reported on the news. But maybe that was the sound of it hitting the earths atmosphere...??

Remarks
My husband and I were outside getting ready to start to water the yard, when the yard illuminated like someone had shot off a flare gun. When we looked up we were facing north and it was traveling left to right (west to east) across the sky – it appeared lower in the atmosphere than a commercial plane – that’s what shocked us. The color looked like looking into a welders torch. As it broke up the smaller pieces were red/orange in color (like a hot coal)
