Not sure of exact time, but it was around 3 PM, maybe a little later. I was generally driving in a northeast direction on route 202 in PA just south of Doylestown, but the road curves a lot so I can't say with exact precision what direction I was facing, but it was generally northeast. The light travelled from left to right in front of me. I saw it on the right side of my windshield. At first I tried to place what it could have been. I started thinking of all the fireworks it might have been and thought it was perhaps a bottle rocket, but it wasn't a bottle rocket as I have seen many of them before. I did think it was possibly something entering the atmosphere or maybe an airplane burning up. I thought of the Chinese space station I heard mentioned in the news as coming down soon. There was a helicopter also crossing my path from left to right at that time and they must have had an excellent view. At first I thought it was a police or military helicopter there tracking whatever it was that was coming down. When I say a news post that 200 people had reported seeing this on Wednesday 18th and that it was around 3 pm, I knew right away that this is what I saw also. I was on my way to a doctor's appointment at 3:30 PM in Doylestown. Occasionally I watch meteor showers and I would say this had the brightness and speed of a meteor. But it was a bit wider and the path I saw was very short. It wasn't a long streaking path. |
