| Remarks | Meteor seen from 25,000 ft on descent into Cyprus. Large flash seen - bright enough to light up the whole cockpit. Looked like lightning flash (But no cumulonimbus in the whole of the Mediterranean area.) Looked left to see fireball large fireball, breaking up into five or six smaller balls of differing speeds. Long trail of white and orange sparks. Biggest I have ever seen in 35 years. Appeared very similar to shuttle crash. Suspect it may have been space debris. . |
