Remarks I did not observe a fireball, but I believe I saw the train of a fireball. I have see 2 fireballs in the past but I saw no object this time, only something like a fireball trail. This was on the same date and about the same time as report 1095a from Sheridan, MT. I did not hear any sound. I just stepped outdoors with my dogs and I was facing east or southeast. I looked up and saw a slightly luminous, smoky streak of uniform width, about the width of my index finger at arms length. It ran from west or WNW to east or ESE. It crossed at least 80 degrees of the sky. The streak was far too wide to be an aircraft vapor trail and it looked closer than a vapor trail. Of course I did not see the object so I do not know its direction of travel. Sheridan MT is southeast of Missoula, so I wonder if I saw the trail of the Sheridan object. The streak or train faded and disappeared over the next 2-3 minutes.
