Remarks I was driving north along James Larkin Road when I noticed that the water of Dublin Bay between me and Howth Hill was lit up more than I would have expected from the moon. I looked up to confirm that it was the moon when I saw the tail-end of what I think was a fireball. It was the last second or so, and by that time it was yellow in colour. When the fireball had petered out, and I was sure that wasn't likely to light up again (in case it was an aircraft light or something else non-astronomical...), I looked back to the water to see how it was lit up, and it wasn't. Therefore, I am inferring the colour of the flare to be white from the colour of the bay's water reflecting it. As I only caught the last few seconds of the fireball, both indirectly and directly, I can't confirm the direction is was traveling in. I used Google Maps to get the precise longitude 'n' latitude and the direction I was looking at the time. Éibhear
