Remarks 3 fireballs heading towards earth. All 3 were side by side with the middle fireball slightly lower than the 2 outside fireballs. They were heading straight down and southward but more direct towards earth. I was facing at about 180 degrees. The left and right fireballs extinguished themselves about 35 degrees above the earth before disappearing over the foothills to the south. The middle fireball did an abrupt direction change and headed west by southwest and extinguished itself after about another 5 to 10 seconds. There seemed to be a slightsmoke trail, but it was getting dark and the distance is indeterminate. I called the Riverside County Sheriffs and reported that I saw 3 fireballs and it loooked like they would land around Bundy Canyon Road and east of Interstate 15 near Wildomar, California. I have recieved no follow up, but the sheriff dispatch reported that they had recieved several matching calls as mine. The complete show lasted about 10 to 20 seconds.
