Remarks I'm very intuitive, 52 years old work as a photographer and film maker and well travelled globally and I KNOW light. When the power went off at approx 21:45, I had a strong intuitive pull to go up on my roof to ostensibly see how much of my village had gone dark. It was complete, except for The Ojai Valley Inn (approx 1 mile east of me) which must have a genny. I was unaware of the fire, then noticed an orange glow due east in far upper Ojai. I then smelled the faint smell of smoke. As I stood on my roof just figuring out there was a fire, this very bright object fell into the center of my vision from the top of my field of vision, to below the distant mountains to right about where I estimate was Upper Ojai ground level. Seemed like a potential impact. It was very bright, hard to say but almost felt like it illuminated the local area near it as it descended. Decent was fast, similar to meteorite, but this looked like no meteorite I have ever seen. Next day a good friend in Ventura reported very similar sighting same night. His sounded even more dramatic as he described it streaking across the majority of the sky over his head, then fragging into multicolored parts. I'm very suspicious about what this was. Didn't find any reports on either of these that night in your list.

Remarks Was up on my roof after power went off, checking to see how much of our village went dark. Noticed the glow of the Thomas Fire approx 7 miles due east of me in upper Ojai. Fireball fell straight down directly in center of my vision. It got brighter and brighter white and certainly looked as though it might have hit the earth. Flashed BRIGHT GREEN right at terminus. Told a friend in Ventura next day... he said he saw an enormous one the same night, similar time streak over head covering half the sky, broke into multicolored frags for him.
