Reports Report 1451d (Event 1451-2011)

Observer
Name Jim
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks The object was rather large and appeared to be within a couple of miles of my location. It was moving east to west (more or less). It was also fairly slow-moving, unlike a meteorite which flashes across the sky in less than a second. This object also appeared to be at an unusually low altitude in the sky. I posted the information about the falling meteor on WBTV\'s Facebook page and sent it to Eric Thomas. Turns out a man in Morganton, NC saw the same thing I did. Eric wrote back and said that events like this are reported about twice a year. Sometimes NASA is aware of them, but not always. A few other people in parts of central NC also reported seeing it.
