Remarks This was the most remarkable meteor event I've ever witnessed. I've seen a few large fragmenting fireballs, but have never heard one before. Absolutely breathtaking.

Delayed Sound
Observation Yes
Remarks A few seconds after the first fragmentation, I heard a series of 12-18 booms of considerable magnitude. I\\\'d put them on the order of 50 dB. (I\\\'m an audio engineer) My wife heard the booms inside the house. They were distant and huge like thunder, (clearly from the sky, not from the ground) but short in duration, more like shotgun or high caliber rifle fire. I felt most of the shock waves gently impact my body.
Persistent train
Observation Yes
Duration 2s
Length 15°
Remarks It was pretty dark, so the smoke was only visible when illuminated by the tail. But the trail was still quite visible after the meteor went behind the tree line.
Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks When I opened the door to let my dogs out, it had already entered and was in two fragments, the main on being about 5-8 times the size of the secondary fragment. The large fragment then separated once or twice more. There were also very minor fragments peeling off of both larger fragments.
Fragmentation
