As both a pilot and amateur astronomer, I am absolutely certain this was a meteorite. By far one of the most spectacular examples that I have ever personally witnessed.

Dim white light that rapidly grew much brighter, color changed from yellow / white to a light green / blue. Light began to fade and turned yellow / orange. Light suddenly got very bright and quickly faded away. The whole sequence lasted approximately 5 seconds.
