Reports Report 1077aj (Event 1077-2018)

Observer
Name Judy B
Experience Level 2/5
Remarks If I held a softball in my hand and extended my hand to arm's length, the softball would be the size of the fireball. To me it was huge. I thought my husband had turned on his "super duty" flashlight he was holding as our entire driveway, including us in our lawn chairs, lit up. Like a spot light was shining on us. We looked up to see this miraculous object in the sky travelling from right to left (south to north) and relatively low in the horizon. We've never seen a fireball so big and bright and it was stunning. I asked the next day if anyone else had seen it and no one did. I wrote down what I saw and just today (16 days after the fact) discovered this site where such things are reported.

Remarks The flash surprised me and I wasn't ready for it but as I recall, the ball seemed to explode with fragments flying from it. In an instant, it was completely gone.
