It lasted long enough to point and tell my grandparents to turn and look at it. As well as to get get up from my seated position and walk approximately 10-15ft in front of me and face directly west in order to visualize the meteor for the tree. In the initial part of the report it was asked where I initially saw the meteor. It is at that location where I saw it begin in the sky with a bright flash that grew into a long orange tail. AMAZING!

Remarks
At the very end it split into two separate pieces that both maintained the same path with one piece appearing to surge foreward from the other piece. During the split the two pieces changed from a bright white to a light green before they both disappeared at the same time.
