Remarks
The trail was at least 10 - 20 times the length of the main object. The initial object as it approached my field of view was a brilliant bright white and the trail changed from white to a fiery orange. As the object moved across the sky the trail fizzed and sparked and ejected particles. My wife and I watched the object for at least 20-30 seconds as it moved across the sky before it disappeared behind clouds. The trail continued to be the same length the whole time. From my field of view it seemed to climb.

Remarks
Particles seemed to break away from the object or it\'s trail as it flew overhead but they did not seem to fall but burn out.
