I have been observing the nighttime sky through optical instruments for over 50 years and together with Dr. John Grant have been hosting star parties at Pearl River Community College for over 20 years. Of the many fireballs I have seen, this was one of the brightest and most colorful.

I saw 2 large and long flashes connected by a trail of smoke. When the flashes faded I could no longer see the trail of smoke.
