Reports Report 594a (Event 594-2012)

Observer
Name Paul
Experience Level 1/5
Remarks From memory: I was in the third or fourth grade [Spring '63 or '64] walking home from school [Centennial] east bound Dakota Ave near Ninth St around 3:00 PM. I happened to look directly north across Dakota Ave towards the school playground when I saw two fireballs in tandem with light tails each, traveling from the east to the west, at 9-10 o'clock high [with 12 o'clock straight up] over the playground. I heard a swoooch sound. It appeared they burned out over the school, but at the time, I understood it could have been many miles away north from the school. I remembered I was excited about the observation, but I was unsure what I observed. I thought, at the time, was it over the school or in space, and why did I see it in the daylight. I have thought about the observation over the years and at times doubted what I saw, but when I read about the recent fireball over Nevada and California, I realized what I saw may have been a fireball, so I googled meteor fireball and found that what I saw may not have been imagination or a phenomena, but a common occurrence.
